THE HIVE

Nearly 20 years in the making.

THE HIVE began in 2008. Since then it's gone through multiple rewrites, new technologies, and years of trial and error. The goal has always been the same: bring people together and make gaming feel like a community again.

Now we're in LIVE OPEN BETA. No invitations, no waiting. Everyone is welcome!

Remember logging on just to see who was around? You'd catch up with friends, meet someone new, and maybe end up playing a game together.

That's the feeling we're building around.

THE HIVE is a free Windows desktop platform for gaming and communities, inspired by the days of MPlayer. It's not another Discord clone or a feed to scroll. It's a place to actually spend time with people.

Join a lobby based on a game or interest. Chat with everyone there, join a room, make friends, or start your own community.

Community Lobbies: Hang out, meet people, share news, join discussions, and discover events.

Voice, Cam & Streaming: Create public or private rooms with voice chat, webcams, screen sharing, and gameplay streaming.

The Pager: Keep track of friends, see who's online and where they're hanging out, send messages, and invite them into rooms.

Dedicated Game Launching: For supported games, set up a dedicated server right from a room. Players click Ready, the server launches, and they're pulled into the match.

Clans & Guilds: Build a Clan Hub with your own tag, forums, announcements, and member tools.

Events & Tournaments: Organize brackets, compete in King of the HIVE events, and earn a place in the Hall of Fame.

Profiles & Coins: Customize your profile, level up, earn accolades, and spend HIVE Coins on features. Coins are earned, never bought.

We're working with games like Quake III Arena and Aliens vs. Predator, alongside our own HIVE Poker and Honor, Spells & Dragons.

But game launching is only one part of THE HIVE. Your group can have a home here even if its favorite game isn't integrated. Make rooms, talk, stream, plan matches, and keep your community together.

We're actively developing THE HIVE, fixing bugs, adding features, and listening to feedback. Whether you want to bring friends or just meet some new ones, we'd love to see you there.

Free to join. Open beta is live.
