ABOUT Pause Tacticality

Community promoting and seeking real time with pause games

Pause Tacticality is a community group which purpose is to welcome every player who share an interest for Active Pause.
Its goal is to showcase the number of people who have an interest in this feature, and thus, help to promote its use in games.

On our forum you'll find:
A list of RTS featuring tactical pause
A list of non RTS games featuring tactical pause
But Also:
A list of Upcoming RTwP games
And some other goodies such as a tutorial to enable speedhack on games that don't natively feature tactical pause, and a tutorial for Autohotkey to edit hotkeys on games that do not have that option.

D.O.R.F. – Real-Time Strategic Conflict gets a new trailer

If you’re a fan of old-school RTS games and notably the Command & Conquer franchise, D.O.R.F. is definitely one to keep an eye on.

The latest trailer showcases more of its classic isometric presentation, massive armies, base building, and combined land/air/sea warfare, with a visual style that feels like a lost 90s RTS brought back with modern technology.

What makes the game particularly interesting is that it isn't simply trying to recreate Command & Conquer. The developers are building systems around resource logistics, terrain deformation, trenches and large-scale base construction, while keeping the focus firmly on traditional RTS gameplay.

The game features three distinct factions, each with their own units and playstyles, and development was recently given a major boost after the Kickstarter raised over $300,000, far beyond its original $85,000 goal.

Honestly, between D.O.R.F., Dust Front, and some of the other upcoming indie RTS projects, it feels like we're entering a pretty interesting period for old-school RTS fans and tactical pause enjoyers.

Tempest Rising Tactical Pause is Live !

The developpers of Tempest Rising decided to work on a community patch centred around the most popular demands over their steam forums.
And Tactical Pause has been elected among a few others!

I encourage anyone interested in Tempest Rising to congratulate the developpers properly (steam, youtube etc.), and support them when possible.

Tempest Rising will now join the list of games which added Tactical Pause due to popular demands, and that is in no small parts thanks to you all !

The game "Jagged Alliance: Back in Action" has an excellent pause & plan mechanic with its real time combat. I like how my mercs fire away at the badguys while I pause to use the medic to heal and to throw grenades which are very fun. If you like tac pause, you should play the game for sure - very fun gun fights with intense combat tactics especially in urban combat.

Love this! Joined today as I love issuing commands and building while games are paused and then unpausing and zooming in to watch battles and such. Also have a young daughter who loves rts type games and needs active pause to keep on most of them.

Blows my mind people argue against Tac Pause and that devs dont put it in games. It changes nothing for those that dont want to use it and makes a huge difference to people like me, or older people, or younger kids or people who might have a handicap that makes keeping up in real time difficult or impossible.
