Early Access Review
This game is fantastic, and I really have been loving both the variety of the beasties and the depth of the ball game.

Feels very much feature complete. A solid, put together package, and I have plenty of content still to go. I've taken my time working through it, enjoying the expansive map, neat story and world building taking shape.

The ability to swap out teammates on the fly, coupled with no punishments for losing the fights, has really encouraged me to build up different team cores that match the level of the area I'm in, rather than just steamrolling everything in my path and blitzing through the content thoughtlessly.

The fact every single beastie can vary in colour is also just a great touch, some of which can wildly different within the same specie, making your team unique.

An incredibility smooth experience thus far. One mild graphical glitch and two instances of the same soft lock knocking down the ropes with the ball (which I fixed by engaging a nearby beastie in battle). In 30ish hours, I have encountered no game-altering bugs, nor crashes to speak of.

The team has pushed out several lists of fixes every day since the game has been for sale. The passion and drive are palpable.

I will admit, I was initially slightly disappointed with the state of the beastie sprite work. Every beastie does at least have a "finished" still, but plenty of the animations are simple colours and line art.

However, literally every beastie has concept art, including planned poses and the design process, accessible inside the game from their version the pokedex, as well as a bar displaying an approximation of how much work is left to be added to each and every one.

I feel pretty confident, considering the fairly complete nature of the rest of the experience that I've had so far, along with the evidence that work is planned, and current updates, that the lion's share of this work will be completed in time.

Once all the art is in place, this will be such a sweet game.

If you wanted to hold off until you had a more immersive experience, with the beautiful idle animations we can already see in the game applied across everything, I guess I wouldn't blame you, but right now? Beastie Ball comes highly recommended from me, best purchase I've made in a long time.

If this sounds like your jam, download the demo. The time you put in carries over into the purchased version, so you have nothing to lose.

Well crafted, engaging, complex but not obtuse, can't wait to see it continue to expand and grow.

This should be free, yet it's over $20.

I understand you gave it away for free, it didn't have to be free forever, but must you really balance to this to the nth degree by gouging the people who didn't pick it up?

My game is now incompatible with that of my friend's and we cannot do late game content, such as gain OP ranks.

The rest of the franchise is on sale for over 80% off and yet this is still 23AUD.
