Labyrinth Of The Demon King is a truly great game.

It has a stylish look that feels like something from the PS1 era, which fits the atmosphere perfectly. The game is pretty short (around 8 hours to finish without rushing), but that’s acceptable for an indie title. Here are some pros and cons:

Pros:
+ Great and unique visual style.

+ Interesting gameplay.

+ Excellent music — keeps you constantly tense and never lets you relax.

+ Cool enemy designs with creative mechanics.

+ Fun quests.

+ Sound design is mostly great, though there are a few weaker moments.

Cons:
– Encountered a few softlock bugs.
– After the first tower, it becomes really hard to die (I really forgot how to do it).
– Tanegashima (gun) and Hama Yumi (bow) completely trivialize bosses — they either get lead-poisoned or turn into pincushions.
– Talismans are either overpowered or useless. They’re too rare and expensive to use during regular exploration, and against bosses, they make things too easy.
– Weapon variety is limited — you can’t upgrade and use everything effectively.
– Puzzles are way too easy — they could’ve been much more challenging or creative.

Score: 8.5/10
I definitely recommend playing this great game!

Personal note:
It would be nice if weapon upgrades were replaced with a system that boosts your character’s strength, affecting weapon damage overall. That way, players would have more incentive to try different weapons, not just stick to one and use another one for specific enemy.
