I almost raged quit today and wanted to give beating the final boss one final time. Somehow I was able to lock in and “beat”. It is so hard but so so rewarding and walks a very tight rope in balancing those two.

I have to say, for a fangan turned indie IP this is pretty good. I really, really enjoyed the stories and some aspects (like the night cut always) I think were so much more enjoyable than base game Danganronpa with just having Monokuma yapping about nothing.

My biggest complaint, by far, is the card battling and other similar minigames. It’s not even bad but it’s just…there. I don’t feel like there’s much strategy and you’re just slapping cards against other cards. The other minigames are also…fine but I really hope they get a tune up. I want to want to play them, if that makes sense.

Also when it comes to shooting the white noise, it’s VERY common for me to try and shoot the white noise and the game sees it as me trying to present an argument. I hope that can be fixed/they becomes 2 different buttons
But I have very high hopes about this moving forward. I can’t wait to see what happens in chapter 2 when it drops

Early Access Review
Lmao these chuds still mad 10 years later that a woman dared to report facts.

This game is really fun, tho! The Regent is by far my least favorite character but I can see him being reworked eventually. It feels so…restrictive playing him.

I love the Sly mechanic for the silent. And overall this is a really fun game! I can’t wait to see it finalized!

I didn’t hate the game but I was kinda mixed on the experience. The mechanics don’t feel like they hit as well as It Takes 2 and ironically enough the story is more lackluster despite being about two authors literally exploring their imaginations

Out of every Balatro-like I’ve played I think this captures the spirit of what makes it so much fun the most. You don’t even have to know words well to be good. As long as you can roughly hedge your bets of suffixes and prefixes you’re honestly set.

I appreciate the effort the devs are putting into balancing the game. Biggest critique is I feel some runs are genuinely unwinable. I’ve had runs where the shop produces no multiplier stamps or stickers so I could only score by adding points which I don’t think you can get to a win state.

I can’t wait to try the game again in a few months after the devs tweet it some more. Another amazing recommendation from Design Doc! (Also femboy should 100% be a word)

[Soft spoilers]

I really, really liked the characters, settings, powers, and stakes. I was so invested in this story and I’m very glad I got to play it.

That being said, I feel each 3rd of the game have a kinda jarring feel to them that made me wanting more of each idea it was exploring. The first third was this really interesting death note meets future diaries with a touch of JoJos with trying to figure out the enemies power. Then it shifted to this character driven series of seemingly separate mysteries. This is by far the part that was the strongest. The ending third made me feel…underwhelmed. It required a LOT of point and click levels of logic to progress the story that only came up twice in the game that were both baffling solutions to begin with. There was also no warning for this heavy shift so it became kinda frustrating to deal with. The ending could have been expanded on more, I feel.

Overall, I really enjoyed this game. The characters were the highlight but the meta mechanics and kinda rushed/tonal whiplashed/incompleted ending dragged it down a bit.

I really wanted to like this game. I really did. I didn’t gel with the humor and the story wasn’t that engaging for me. I’m glad most other people loved the game but I personally did not

Hoooooly mackerel. I’ve never been so emotionally invested in a rhythm game like this. This is such a technical marvel. I’m so serious. I don’t even know how they coded some of this game and I’m too scared to find out. Play this blind if possible
