A young disciple ascended the temple's stairs and approached the wise sage inside.

The young disciple announced:

"Sage, you are no master of this mountain. I live up here, yet you descend it every day. I meditate near its cliffside, you dig along the base. A true master would devote themselves to this view from above, not the view below.

After an endless silence, the sage finally responded:

"It is he who climbs, and then willingly descends from the mountain to climb it once again, that most understands the mountain was not made to be ruled at all."
