Favorite game of all time, could not recommend more.

The game looks fantastic, I mean visually stunning. The music is stuff that I listen to on a regular basis, the number of times I've jammed out to "Sneak-A-Peak" and "Menu" I could not tell you.

The gameplay is phenomenal as well. Learning the different racing mechanics and uses for each kart was really fun. However, once you have learned and mastered the racing the game is still really fun and challenging. I loved coming back to the game on a higher difficulty, knowing what to go for, which powerups were good, etc.

The story and the lore were fantastic too. Watching the cutscenes in this game is something that I don't mind doing several times, which is weird considering I tend not to care about cutscenes. Most of the cutscenes in the game are very short and to the point, so they don't pull you away from the gameplay too much. In addition, Garfield has so much personality in some scenes. One example where this is shown is when you pick up Garfield's miniature toy in the first level (a type of collectable throughout the game akin to action figures of the characters and karts). Normally, when Garfield picks up the toys he looks them over in his hand a little bit, but when he picks up a miniature of himself, he looks at the camera and says his classic line, "I know where you live!", and moves the head of the figure to mirror him. There are times like that when he feels like a giddy child, which is ironic considering how graphic this game is... Filling the codex was fun too. I loved reading the lore behind all of the locations, character and karts which again, is something that I typically don't do.

This game is something that I will probably continue to come back to years later and still have a good time, it's that good. I cannot recommend this game enough. I am looking forward to playing the two dlc's and the game on higher difficulties. I also have plans to play the game on ultra nightmare mode at some point
