The Omega is an E-segment passenger car manufactured and sold by Opel. A sedan and a station wagon were available, with rear-wheel drive. Its predecessor was Recolt.
It was positioned next to the Senator, Opel's flagship at the time. Despite competing with the likes of the BMW 5 Series, Mercedes-Benz Medium-Class and Audi 100, Opel stopped producing the Omega in 2002 and has since exited the E-segment.The second generation model, Omega B, appeared in 1993 (sales in Japan began in 1994). Adopted a bolder aero look. The body was enlarged to integrate with the Senator, and the body shape was a sedan and a station wagon. In addition, the long-lasting in-line 6-cylinder engine was replaced with a newly developed V-type 6-cylinder engine.
In the UK, the Carlton name was abolished and replaced with the Vauxhall Omega, similar to Opel.
It was improved every year in 1996, 1997, 1998, and in 1999 (Japan specification from 2000) minor changes were carried out. The design of each part has been changed to show dignity suitable for Opel's flagship, and the slightly too aggressive design has changed to something that is more acceptable to conservatives. The interior was also changed from an instrument panel that used many curves to a straight line design. In Japan, it is commonly called 2000B after minor changes. In the home country, a BMW 6-cylinder diesel engine was also set. In addition, a model equipped with the same V-type 8-cylinder 5.7-liter engine as the Chevrolet Corvette was also released for a limited time.
At the time, GM's Cadillac division sold sedans under the name Catera to compete with BMW, Mercedes, and the newcomer Lexus in the United States, but sales were poor. The Catera was discontinued in the 2001 model year, and the following year it became the Cadillac CTS, although it was the same rear-wheel drive car but adopted a newly designed platform called Sigma Architecture. CTS stands for "Katera Touring Sedan".

Appeared at the end of the model. Based on the CD, the displacement was expanded and the engine management was changed. At the same time, the suspension and brakes were strengthened, and it was a sports-oriented grade that enhanced driving performance.

Omega's top model. Since the Senator has been abolished, it is effectively Opel's flagship.
