As a massive Hollow knight fan im proud to say that Silksong is an even more amazing game. It takes everything you loved in HK to a whole new level: The world, the characters, the combat, the movement, the discoveries and the music. Everything amazed me beyond what i could've imagined. It has truly lived up to the hype and was worth the long wait, well done team Cherry.

Early game can feel brutal even for a seasoned HK player so i understand the general frustration with the 2x damage on certain enemies, luckily these hurdles can be overcome or returned to later on. That being said i wouldnt be surprised if they made some tuning changes in a patch and id honestly welcome them as well.

Let me start of by saying that the game has some critical flaws, audio and visual feedback is awful when you are being attacked. The UI isnt great either besides in matches where it is fine. Balance is off the charts (if everyone is broken, then noone is broken?)

In my experience its a 50/50 if you can actually connect to the match the game found for you.

The Plucky Squire is a great game that does well in its concept of mixing 2d and 3d. Visually you cant really complain and the gameplay gets some variety throughout the game as it introduces new mechanics. It provides a mostly relaxing and chill experience both in the combat and the puzzles.

My main issue is losing control of my character frequently because the game "needs" to tell me the gate is open when i solve a puzzle or defeat all enemies, or when the narration continues.

Lastly the game provides a short experience but of great quality, though i still think it could be 5-10 eu cheaper.

Originally i was mixed about the dlc due to a few complaints but i decided to change my mind after some time thinking. If you compare the dlc to the industry standard it exceeds without a doubt. However if you compare it to the base game it you might be disappointed by some of the bosses as i am. Some of the bosses need a bit more polishing to improve the fighting experience.
The world itself is amazing and you love to explore it, only downside is some areas (especially the one leading to the bottom of the map) are well hidden. The new weapons in the dlc are really fun to use and had me switch my build.

Early Access Review
A worthy sequel, launches in EA with more content than the first game. It brings old and new systems to the table which makes the game feel more familier but also different at the same time. Looking forward to see whats added in the future.
